Director IS Enterprise Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director IS Enterprise Systems based in the United States.

The Director IS Enterprise Systems provides strategic and operational leadership for critical enterprise business platforms supporting a large, complex organization.
The role oversees platforms such as ERP, IT service management, robotic process automation, and other non-clinical enterprise systems.
You will own the technology lifecycle from roadmap development and governance through upgrades, integrations, testing, production support, and optimization.
The position combines strategic planning with operational leadership, ensuring platforms remain secure, stable, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
You will lead managers and cross-functional teams while coordinating closely with vendors, implementation partners, managed service providers, and enterprise stakeholders.
A key focus will be strengthening automation capabilities and establishing effective governance, support, and delivery models across the technology portfolio.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an enterprise systems professional who can balance technology strategy, operational excellence, business needs, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the strategy, management, and operational support of enterprise platforms, including ERP, IT service management, RPA, and other assigned business applications.
  • Establish and maintain technology roadmaps, lifecycle strategies, support models, governance processes, and operational standards for assigned platforms.
  • Oversee the full technology lifecycle, including platform ownership, upgrades, patches, integrations, data flows, release governance, testing, production readiness, and post-release support.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team managers responsible for platform operations, ensuring service stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with program managers and PMO teams to align enterprise platform initiatives with strategic priorities, project timelines, and organizational objectives.
  • Lead the enterprise RPA and automation platform and center of excellence, overseeing intake, prioritization, standards, development support, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
  • Develop effective automation governance and promote scalable, standardized approaches to enterprise process automation.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including licensing, contracts, deliverables, customer success, and performance management.
  • Oversee platform budgets, contracts, resources, and operational investments to ensure effective use of technology resources.
  • Ensure enterprise integrations, APIs, data flows, identity and access considerations, security requirements, and environment management practices support reliable platform operations.
  • Establish strong release management, testing, regression testing, and production readiness practices to minimize operational risk and disruption.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, efficiency, reliability, scalability, and business value.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand evolving needs and translate them into sustainable enterprise technology solutions.
  • Provide leadership during complex incidents, operational issues, and platform changes, ensuring timely resolution and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Travel periodically to various locations within Indiana for leadership meetings and other business needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience leading enterprise systems, business platforms, SaaS applications, ERP systems, IT service management platforms, automation platforms, or related technology portfolios.
  • 5+ years of experience in platform lifecycle management, vendor management, budgets and contracts, release management, upgrades, testing, integrations, operational support, and production stability across Workday, ServiceNow, or comparable enterprise systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with enterprise integrations, data flows, APIs, identity and access management considerations, platform security, environment management, and technology support models.
  • Experience in operational business domains such as Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Service Management, or related areas is preferred.
  • Experience with ITIL, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, product management, automation governance, or platform operating models within shared-services or IT environments is preferred.
  • Healthcare or large-enterprise experience, particularly within a highly regulated environment, is preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and related PHI/PII regulatory requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership skills, with the ability to balance long-term technology planning with day-to-day service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Strong vendor and partner management capabilities, including contract, performance, and relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, integrations, data flows, platform security, and operational support models.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and drive accountability in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred, including ITIL, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Workday Pro, or other applicable enterprise platform certifications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.
