This is an opportunity to apply hands-on AI and machine learning expertise to the assessment of emerging technologies across multiple regulated industries.
You will contribute to the evaluation of AI-enabled products and software, helping ensure they meet applicable regulations, standards, and quality expectations.
The role combines technical assessment, client engagement, conformity evaluation, and continuous improvement.
You will work across areas such as medical devices, robotics, biometrics, and other AI-driven applications.
Beyond individual assessments, you will help develop methodologies, tools, training, and testing approaches for AI conformity assessment.
The position offers exposure to a global, multidisciplinary environment where technical expertise directly supports trust, safety, and responsible AI adoption.
This is a fully remote, home-based role for an experienced AI professional looking to make a broader impact beyond product development.
- Review technical documentation and assess AI-enabled systems against applicable regulatory requirements, standards, guidance, and conformity assessment criteria.
- Support AI conformity assessments by providing technical expertise and practical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute technical input to CE marking, certification, and related assessment activities.
- Apply expertise across relevant AI and machine learning domains to evaluate the technical design, implementation, performance, and risks of AI systems.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to colleagues, helping strengthen organizational AI assessment capabilities and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of AI assessment procedures, technical tools, training materials, testing methodologies, and supporting processes.
- Participate in internal projects focused on developing, evaluating, and testing AI tools that improve assessment quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Support accreditation, quality assurance, governance, and continuous improvement activities related to AI conformity assessment.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and machine learning expertise across services, processes, and assessment activities.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams while working independently on technical assignments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Medical Device Software, or a closely related technical discipline.
- At least 4 years of post-graduate professional experience in AI/ML model development, preferably within a regulated industry, research environment, or other technically rigorous setting.
- Practical knowledge of AI regulations, standards, technical guidance, and conformity or risk assessment principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two AI/ML areas, such as deep learning, neural networks, supervised or unsupervised learning, classification, regression, fuzzy logic, probabilistic methods, optimization, large language models, or biometrics.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, software engineering practices, and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex technical information and make sound assessment judgments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, regulatory, and business functions.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in a remote environment.
- Comfortable contributing to a global, multidisciplinary organization and adapting to evolving AI technologies, regulations, and standards.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa support is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $119,400 to $140,000, depending on skills, experience, education, location, budget, and internal compensation considerations.
