Job Description
Position Title: Material Coordinator
Job Location: Yorktown Naval Weapons Station (Cheatham Annex), Williamsburg, VA
Summary:
Our company is searching for a Material Coordinator to join our small team as a contractor for the US Navy. We are seeking an ambitious and hardworking individual who can withstand uncontrolled temperatures, both hot and cold. A good candidate will pay close attention to detail, follow directions, double-check their work, work well in a group setting or alone, and have strong communication, thinking, and organizational skills. Duties to include but not limited to:
- Create shipping documents; create shipping reports; file shipping documents
- Access SERMIS to obtain information needed for tasks
- Maintain 51 Record database and physical 51 Record files
- Load/Unload trucks as needed
- Pull/Prepare assets for shipment
- Validate/Inspect assets as requested to ensure inventory accuracy
- Always treat assets with care and concern
- Identify damaged, lost, or missing assets and notify supervisor immediately
- Assist in cleanliness of warehouse
- Operate/work with heavy equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts
- Assist with receiving assets by inspecting identifying markers such as part number, cage, serial number, barcode and status code
Qualifications/Skills:
-High School Diploma/GED
-Valid Driver’s License
-Current forklift certification a plus
-Previous warehouse experience
-Ability to work alone or with others
-Ability to lift 50 pounds
-Good organizational skills
-Great communication skills
-Problem Solver
-Some knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Access a plus
Requirements:
- You may be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
- Successful Completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail to pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
