POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
STATUS: Full Time Hourly Position
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Machine Operator at Tarter is responsible for operating various machinery in a safe and precise manner, strictly adhering to process specifications. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management, and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site):
Load steel into the uncoiler, ensuring proper positioning and alignment.
Operate machinery such as benders, welders, and seamers, following prescribed procedures to meet production goals.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
Inspect parts produced by the machinery, comparing them to established standards to verify quality and accuracy.
Maintain a clean and organized work area according to the 5S system, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
Other duties may be documented and assigned by management, and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in basic mathematics and analytical skills.
Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50lb.
Strict adherence to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the production area.
Basic computer knowledge.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most work is conducted in an indoor controlled environment for optimal machine operation.
