Job Description

Senior Project Manager, Outside Plant

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager, Outside Plant in United States.

This role sits at the center of large-scale fiber infrastructure delivery, overseeing the end-to-end execution of outside plant (OSP) construction projects across multiple regions. You will act as the operational owner of your projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, permitting, and vendor performance all align to deliver high-quality fiber deployments. The work blends strategic oversight with hands-on field engagement, including site walks and coordination with construction partners. You will operate in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where precision, accountability, and communication directly impact project success. This position requires strong command of telecom infrastructure delivery, especially fiber networks in real-world build environments. You will collaborate closely with engineering, permitting authorities, vendors, and customers to ensure seamless execution from design through closeout. The environment rewards autonomy, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

Own and drive end-to-end delivery of large-scale OSP fiber construction projects, ensuring alignment across schedule, budget, scope, and quality standards; responsibilities include:

  • Managing full project lifecycle execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor coordination, and construction oversight across multiple concurrent fiber builds
  • Leading vendor selection processes, including RFP execution, contractor evaluation, negotiation, and ongoing performance management
  • Overseeing permitting activities across local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring timely approvals and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinating field execution activities such as site walks, construction verification, and environmental requirement alignment with subcontractors
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, including fiber engineering records, splicing requirements, and as-built network maps using geospatial tools
  • Supporting customer and stakeholder communications with regular updates, issue resolution, and delivery alignment
  • Managing service delivery closeout activities, including documentation, reporting, and operational handoff to network operations teams
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost control, and delivery consistency across projects
Requirements

This role requires strong experience in telecom infrastructure and fiber deployment, combined with proven project leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Candidates should bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management, fiber network engineering, telecommunications infrastructure, or OSP construction delivery
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing fiber deployment projects, including permitting, vendor coordination, construction oversight, and budget control
  • Strong understanding of scheduling tools, cost tracking, and project lifecycle management in infrastructure environments
  • Experience leading vendor negotiations, RFP processes, and contractor performance management
  • Familiarity with GIS/mapping tools, geospatial platforms, or network documentation systems
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; exposure to telecom or construction management platforms is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or related field preferred
Benefits
  • Annual salary range: $110,000 – $130,000 depending on experience
  • Eligibility for up to 10% annual discretionary bonus based on performance and company results
  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance options, plus dental and vision coverage options
  • Paid time off, paid holidays, and additional leave benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Life insurance and short-term disability coverage provided
  • Remote flexibility with occasional travel (up to ~10%) for field or project-related needs
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale national fiber infrastructure projects with high operational impact
