Role Overview
The Energy Marshall is responsible for overseeing and controlling all energy isolation and energization activities on this large-scale data center construction project. This role serves as the primary authority for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensures that all systems are safely managed as they transition from construction to live operation.
This role is responsible for reviewing and approving isolation plans, coordinating energization activities, and maintaining strict compliance with safety standards. You’ll play a key role in preventing risk and ensuring safe execution in a high-energy, mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the onsite authority for all LOTO and energy isolation activities
- Review and approve energy isolation and energization plans
- Coordinate safe energization of electrical systems (MV/LV)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety standards
- Work closely with contractors, field teams, and commissioning groups to maintain alignment
- Monitor and audit energy control procedures to ensure proper execution
- Support planning and coordination of energization sequences and turnover activities
- Identify and mitigate risks related to energized systems and work activities
- 5+ years of experience in construction, electrical, or safety roles
- Strong experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energy isolation procedures
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety standards
- Experience working in industrial, mission-critical, or data center environments
- Ability to operate in a high-risk, high-accountability environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience on data center or large-scale electrical projects
- Background in electrical construction, commissioning, or safety management
- Certifications related to LOTO, electrical safety, or energy isolation
