Job Description
The CNC Machine Set Up Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and supporting a variety of manufacturing equipment, including CNC, EDM, automation, and robotic systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

In addition to equipment setup and operation, this individual may assist with developing and maintaining work instructions, documenting processes, and supporting production optimization activities as business needs allow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC machines, EDM equipment, automated systems, and robotic equipment to support production requirements
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production flow
- Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, offsets, and minor programming edits as needed
- Monitor machine performance and inspect product quality to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, routers, work instructions, and technical drawings
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection equipment to verify product conformance
- Support preventative maintenance activities and communicate equipment concerns appropriately
- Maintain accurate production, scrap, and quality documentation
- Assist with creating, updating, and improving work instructions and standardized processes
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Support cross-training and operational flexibility within the department as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, and gauges
- CNC setup and operation experience preferred; automation, robotics, or EDM equipment experience strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery
