Job Description
Role Summary:
The Maintenance Operations Manager leads the entire Maintenance Division, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This role oversees the performance of Field Managers and Maintenance Teams, while collaborating closely with Account Managers and Sales to meet customer expectations and drive divisional performance. The Maintenance Operations Manager owns the daily, weekly, and seasonal execution of maintenance operations and is a key bridge between the field and branch leadership.
Core Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manages Field Managers and Maintenance Crews
- Build, coach, and develop leaders within the maintenance division
- Ensure proper staffing levels and crew readiness for all service lines
- Forecast seasonal labor needs and communication with the Branch Manager
- Maintain a culture of accountability, safety, and performance
Operations & Scheduling
- Oversee daily and weekly route scheduling to optimize efficiency and crew balance
- Ensure all maintenance work (routine and enhancement) is completed to quality standards and on schedule
- Coordinate property start-ups: ensure crews are prepped, standards are communicated, and route schedules are finalized
- Adjust service execution in response to seasonal changes, weather events, or staffing fluctuations
- Ensure accurate and timely close-out of all maintenance division work tickets
- Monitor Aspire service line data and support daily administrative workflows.
Budgeting, KPIs & Financial Oversight
- Manage the Maintenance Division budget (labor, materials, equipment)
- Own and track KPIs such as gross margin performance, overtime %, and cost control metrics
- Monitor job costing, production efficiency, and service line profitability
- Lead daily/weekly/monthly labor and revenue tracking
Collaboration & Execution Support
- Follow Account Manager instruction and support field execution of issue corrections, contracted work, and enhancements.
- Drive service quality and field execution across all crews
- Serve as the primary operations liaison to the Branch Manager, Account Managers, and Sales
- Document, report, and coordinate removal/replacement of dead plant material on properties installed by PureGreen Construction Division
Safety & Equipment Management
- Enforce safe work practices and compliance with company safety protocols
- Oversee readiness of division vehicles, trailers, and hand tools in coordination with Branch Manager
Expectations & Standards:
- Lead with professionalism, integrity, and accountability
- Ensure the division executes to scope and exceeds client expectations
- Communicate clearly and consistently with teams, peers, and leadership
- Promote proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Maintain a solutions-oriented approach under pressure
- Represent PureGreen with pride, setting the tone for operational excellence
Required Skills & Experience:
- Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment
- 3-5 years of experience focused on maintenance/landscape management required
- Bilingual is a plus
- Excellent communication skills - oral, written, and via email
- Strong organizational skills
- Well-versed and fluid with spreadsheets, especially Excel
- Ability to utilize management software such as Aspire
- Ability to effectively make sound decisions under tight deadlines
- Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding requirements and expectations
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR/Background and Drug screening
Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 (based on experience)
