Job Description
At N.E.W. Landscape & Lawn Care, we don’t just maintain properties—we curate living art. As a Master Gardener, you’ll lead the charge in elevating our premium properties through expert plant care, artistic pruning, soil health management, and stunning seasonal displays.
This is more than just “pulling weeds.” It’s about applying horticultural science and a keen aesthetic eye to transform landscapes. You’ll know your plants inside and out, diagnose issues before they spread, use your tools with precision, and leave every garden thriving and beautiful. If you have a passion for botany, a deep respect for the soil, and take immense pride in your craft—you’ll fit right in.
WHO WE ARE (OUR CORE VALUES)- Do the Right Thing Always – We treat every landscape like it’s our own botanical masterpiece—no shortcuts, no excuses.
- Own Your Results – You are responsible for the health, vigor, and aesthetic beauty of the beds under your care.
- Leave It Better – Every bloom, every bed, every day.
- Keep Growing – Stay ahead of horticultural trends, plant pathology, and advanced pruning techniques.
- We Before Me – We collaborate, share botanical knowledge, and elevate each other as a team.
- Take Pride in the Work – We don’t "just trim"—we shape, nurture, and deliver pristine, structurally sound landscapes.
- Creative Autonomy – Opportunity to shape, enhance, and cultivate high-end residential and commercial gardens.
- Professional Tools & Resources – Access to high-quality soil amendments, premium pruning tools, and organic care products.
- Continuing Education – We support your certifications, industry workshops, and ongoing professional horticultural growth.
- A Passionate Team – Work alongside professionals who genuinely care about plant health, ecology, and design.
- Pride in the Results – Watch your gardens thrive season after season because of your direct expertise.
- You hold a Master Gardener certification, a degree in Horticulture/Botany, or have equivalent professional fine gardening experience.
- You have a deep understanding of plant identification, soil biology, pest/disease diagnosis, and proper pruning techniques (beyond just shearing).
- You have a keen eye for detail and design—you see a garden's potential and know exactly how to bring it out.
- You are reliable, self-motivated, and energized by working outdoors in all seasons.
- You are physically capable of active, hands-on gardening work (kneeling, bending, lifting, and planting) all day.
- Perform expert hand-pruning, deadheading, and structural shaping of perennials, ornamental shrubs, and small trees.
- Identify and diagnose plant health issues (pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies) and implement integrated pest management (IPM) solutions.
- Manage weed control, soil conditioning, mulching, and specialized fertilization across custom garden beds.
- Install and maintain seasonal color displays, container gardens, and specialty plantings.
- Collaborate on minor landscape enhancements, plant selection, and bed redesigns to keep properties modern and healthy.
- Serve as our resident plant expert, mentoring and sharing proper horticultural techniques with the wider maintenance team.
- Interact professionally with clients on-site, answering questions and offering expert advice on their gardens.
- Maintain and respect high-quality gardening tools (hand pruners, soil knives, diagnostic tools).
- Follow all safety protocols, leaving every job site immaculate, clean, and hazard-free.
- You are obsessed with plants and love watching a landscape thrive under your care.
- You value precision, artistry, and scientific plant care over rushed maintenance.
- You enjoy sharing your knowledge and elevating the skills of those around you.
- You are dependable, proactive, and take immense pride in your craft.
- You think "gardening" just means running a gas-powered hedge trimmer over everything.
- You struggle to identify common plants, pests, or weeds.
- You cut corners or ignore the long-term health of the soil and plants.
- You prefer a desk job and aren't willing to work hands-on in variable weather conditions.
Apply now – We’re growing and need passionate plantspeople who want to cultivate a beautiful career with us. Bring your knowledge. Bring your pride. Let’s make every garden shine—together.
