Landscaping Crew Leader in Houston, Texas at DTK Landscaping LLC

As a Landscaping Crew Leader you will be responsible for overseeing and working alongside the landscaping crew to complete commercial landscaping tasks safely, efficiently, and with high quality. This role includes guiding, training, and supporting crew members while ensuring all work meets company standards and safety guidelines. You will work closely with the Account Manager to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Lead by example in using landscaping equipment safely and correctly
• Operate and maintain zero-turn mowers and other landscaping tools
• Perform and oversee mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and weeding
• Maintain clean and organized flower beds and job sites
• Install plants, mulch, flowers, and hardscape materials
• Inspect and report equipment issues promptly
• Pick up and deliver landscaping materials as needed
• Ensure the crew clocks in and out at each job site correctly
• Communicate clearly with the Account Manager about project updates or issues
• Provide suggestions to improve landscaping tasks and crew efficiency
• Help plan and schedule property visits with the Account Manager
• Attend required safety and training meetings
• Support and guide the crew to deliver high-quality service

What We’re Looking For:

• English/ Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial or residential landscaping experience
• At least 1 year of experience leading a landscaping crew
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable and shows up to work on time
• Follow health and safety guidelines.
• Good communication skills and willing to learn new skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and jobs efficiently
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
• Willingness to learn new landscaping techniques and safety practices
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Confident leader who motivates and guides the team
• Basic knowledge of Outlook email system

Work Environment:

• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
• Regular use of landscaping tools and equipment
• Typical workdays are 8 to 10 hours
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, climb, and balance as needed
• Must be able to use hands to operate tools and equipment
• Must be able to see clearly up close and at a distance (with or without corrective lenses)
• May need to lift or move items weighing 25–50 pounds
