Tanaq Management Services (TMS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in the health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role

We are seeking an Evaluation Technical Assistance Specialist to provide program evaluation, performance measurement, and evaluation capacity-building support to CDC's Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP). The position serves as a subject matter expert in evaluation and contributes to the development of tools, reports, webinars, and other products that support CDC-funded initiatives.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Atlanta, Georgia. Some travel will be required to conduct site visits. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality evaluation technical assistance and training to recipients, health departments, tribal organizations, and public health partners.
  • Support recipients in developing evaluation plans, evaluation reports, performance measurement strategies, and data collection approaches.
  • Review evaluation and performance measurement plans for alignment with funding opportunity requirements.
  • Monitor and validate performance measure reporting and provide recommendations to improve data quality.
  • Develop evaluation guidance documents, training materials, tools, manuals, templates, and technical assistance resources.
  • Facilitate webinars, virtual trainings, site visits, and peer learning opportunities.
  • Track and manage technical assistance requests and activities using systems such as AMP.
  • Prepare monthly reports, meeting summaries, presentations, and other deliverables for CDC leadership and project officers.
Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in public health, health sciences research, program evaluation, or performance measurement.
  • Experience developing and implementing evaluation plans, performance measures, and data collection strategies.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience providing technical assistance, training, or capacity-building support to stakeholders or program recipients.
  • Knowledge of public health evaluation methods, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience developing reports, presentations, training materials, guidance documents, or other technical products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting CDC-funded programs, public health grants, or cooperative agreements.
  • Experience working with state, local, territorial, or tribal public health organizations.
  • Experience facilitating webinars, trainings, or peer-learning activities.
  • Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, R).
  • Knowledge of chronic disease prevention, heart disease, stroke prevention, or health equity initiatives.

Education and Training

  • Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related health, behavioral, social science, evaluation, or allied health field.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to travel for site visits ~15%
