Job Description

Construction Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Construction Manager based in United States.

This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of large-scale AI data center infrastructure projects from pre-construction through final energization.
You’ll oversee complex construction programs spanning planning, procurement, contractor coordination, site execution, and turnover.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on field leadership across multiple trades, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
You’ll play a critical role in maintaining schedules, controlling costs, resolving risks, and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
The environment is fast-paced and highly execution-focused, with significant ownership and limited layers of bureaucracy.
Frequent travel to project sites in Texas and other U.S. locations is expected, with remote work available outside designated hubs.
This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives on accountability, rapid decision-making, and building critical infrastructure at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead pre-construction and construction activities across a portfolio of data center infrastructure projects, managing delivery from initial planning through final energization and turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans covering construction sequencing, logistics, temporary facilities, equipment access, storage, crane operations, mobilization, and site coordination.
  • Support construction budgets, cost estimates, bid packages, contractor scopes, project schedules, procurement activities, and contractor selection.
  • Review drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, and contractor proposals to identify constructability concerns, scope gaps, coordination issues, and execution risks before mobilization.
  • Coordinate construction activities across civil, structural, architectural, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, controls, communications, security, SCADA, monitoring, and equipment-installation scopes.
  • Direct field construction activities across contractors and trades, coordinating work fronts, site logistics, sequencing, short-interval planning, and daily execution.
  • Maintain the integrated construction schedule, monitor actual progress, identify critical-path risks, and implement recovery plans when milestones are threatened.
  • Lead site coordination meetings and maintain clear communication of priorities, constraints, decisions, corrective actions, and project risks.
  • Resolve field conflicts and drive RFIs, submittals, design clarifications, and technical decisions to timely resolution.
  • Monitor contractor staffing, supervision, productivity, materials, equipment, and contractual performance, while maintaining strong visibility into long-lead procurement and delivery risks.
  • Coordinate heavy equipment deliveries, inspections, storage, rigging, crane operations, installation, and preservation requirements.
  • Review contractor payment applications, progress quantities, change requests, and supporting documentation in partnership with project and procurement teams.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress photographs, manpower tracking, delivery records, field decisions, and schedule updates.
  • Lead punch-list completion, contractor demobilization, record-document requirements, and turnover readiness.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while proactively identifying risks, communicating directly, and ensuring commitments are delivered.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or energy project management, with experience in utilities or modular infrastructure considered a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex contractor networks, large-scale procurement, and multidisciplinary construction programs.
  • Strong understanding of permitting, utility coordination, construction processes, and QA/QC requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multiple construction trades and technical scopes while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Proficiency with construction and project management platforms such as Procore, Monday.com, or similar tools.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contractor proposals, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with incomplete information, make sound decisions, document assumptions, and adapt plans as project conditions change.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to raise risks early, drive accountability, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to project sites in Texas and other U.S. locations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where decisions, priorities, and project requirements can evolve quickly.
Benefits:
  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Equity options in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  • 401(k) with a 4% employer match.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Parental leave.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Commuter benefits, where applicable.
  • Remote work available for employees outside designated company hubs.
  • Opportunities to collaborate in person through periodic team and company off-sites.
