Job Description

Revenue Integrity Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Revenue Integrity Consultant based in United States.

This is a remote, client-facing consulting opportunity focused on improving healthcare revenue integrity, charging accuracy, compliance, and financial performance. You will bring deep hospital revenue cycle expertise to complex engagements involving assessments, implementations, optimization, and post-live stabilization. The role centers on Epic, with particular emphasis on Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, and Chargemaster management. You’ll work closely with operational, clinical, financial, and IT stakeholders to identify revenue leakage and develop practical solutions. This position offers the opportunity to influence processes across multiple healthcare organizations while working in a collaborative and adaptable consulting environment. It is especially well suited to an experienced revenue integrity professional who enjoys solving complex problems and guiding clients through meaningful improvements.

Accountabilities:
  • Partner with healthcare client teams to assess revenue integrity processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Provide comprehensive Chargemaster expertise across Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB), including CDM consolidation for new installations or Epic Refuels.
  • Review CDM structures, maintenance processes, charging workflows, and revenue codes to identify revenue leakage, charge capture issues, compliance risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Evaluate hard-coded and soft-coded charging requirements and recommend improvements that support billing accuracy and revenue integrity.
  • Support assessments, implementations, optimization initiatives, and post-live stabilization activities involving Epic and revenue cycle operations.
  • Apply industry best practices to strengthen charge capture, billing accuracy, denial prevention, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with operational, clinical, financial, IT, and client leadership teams to design and implement practical solutions.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, project updates, and potential risks clearly to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Adapt to changing client priorities and contribute across multiple areas of an engagement when required.
  • Share knowledge, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the continued development of consulting methodologies and expertise.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of revenue integrity experience within a hospital or health system environment, with strong hands-on understanding of revenue cycle operations.
  • Deep knowledge of Epic Hospital Billing (HB), with additional familiarity with Professional Billing (PB), particularly charging and charge capture processes.
  • Comprehensive Chargemaster management experience, including CDM consolidation for new installations or Epic Refuels.
  • Working knowledge of CPT coding and its application within revenue integrity operations.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve charging, billing, revenue leakage, compliance, and denial-prevention opportunities.
  • Experience supporting Epic implementations, optimization initiatives, or post-live stabilization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and consulting skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with client stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain adaptable in a client-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
  • Epic certification may be required depending on the specific project, although operational experience is more important for this position.
  • For candidates based in Texas, willingness to work onsite in Houston for the first two weeks and at least one day per week thereafter may be required for a potential contract-to-hire arrangement.
  • Highly experienced candidates may be considered for a fully remote arrangement with approximately 1–3 trips to Houston over a one-year engagement.
Benefits:
  • Compensation: $60–$65 per hour.
  • Employment: Full-time contracted interim position.
  • Work arrangement: Primarily remote, with potential Houston onsite requirements depending on location, experience, and project structure.
  • Contract-to-hire potential: Texas-based candidates may have the opportunity to transition to a longer-term employment arrangement.
  • Project variety: Exposure to assessments, implementations, optimization programs, post-live stabilization, and strategic revenue integrity initiatives.
  • Professional growth: Opportunity to work with healthcare organizations and expand expertise across revenue cycle, Epic, charging, compliance, and optimization.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside operational, clinical, financial, IT, and consulting professionals.
  • Note: The contracted interim position does not include employee benefits.
