Job Description
Position Summary
The Service Detailer is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and preparing guest and dealership vehicles to meet high-quality appearance standards. This role supports the service department by ensuring vehicles are properly cleaned, inspected, and ready for guest delivery, showroom display, or internal use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Wash, vacuum, and detail interior and exterior of vehicles.
- Clean and polish vehicle surfaces, including windows, wheels, and trim.
- Apply wax, protectants, and other detailing products as needed.
- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and ensure quality standards are met before delivery.
- Remove debris, stickers, and protective materials from vehicles.
- Move and position vehicles safely within dealership property.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detail area and equipment.
- Restock supplies and report low inventory or equipment issues.
- Identify and report any visible vehicle damage or concerns.
- Follow dealership safety procedures and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
- Assist with additional service or dealership tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of vehicle care and cleaning products preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous automotive detailing or car wash experience preferred but not required.
- On-the-job training provided for qualified candidates.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to move and operate vehicles as needed.
Work Environment
Work is performed in dealership detail bays, service areas, and outdoor lots with exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying weather conditions in a fast-paced setting.
