This is a full time hourly position working with the Skilled Trades Worker as an assistant. The hours are mainly Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. with occasional weekends or additional work. Starting pay is $18.7416 per hour with full benefits.

This position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair and operation of Village structures and buildings. Knowledge of construction, mechanical, any experience in plumbing, basic carpentry, painting, power washing, minor repair work is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Knowledge in the use of different tools and materials is also preferred.

While you are part of a two person crew, there are assignments where you will be alone, and must be able to work independently and get the work done. Must be able to take direction and communicate both in writing and orally.

The physical demands of the job require the candidate to be able to drive a vehicle in Florida with a valid drivers license, and is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the employee must be able to rotate neck frequently, extend arms overhead frequently, and turn completely around from fixed stance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places, and regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The Village belongs to the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and a mandatory 3% from gross earnings is required to be contributed to the retirement plan.
Candidates must go through a Level II Background check, DMV, and Pre-Employment drug test. The Village is an EOE.
