This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer based in the United States.
This is a senior-level engineering opportunity focused on building and scaling cloud platform capabilities that enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery across multiple teams. In this role, you will define and drive platform standards for infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and cloud architecture, ensuring consistency and operational excellence at scale. You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to design resilient multi-cloud or single-cloud environments that support business-critical systems. This position blends deep technical expertise with strong cross-team influence, offering the chance to shape platform strategy and elevate engineering maturity across the organization. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will help improve system reliability, developer productivity, and cost efficiency while enabling secure, compliant, and scalable cloud operations.
- Define, architect, and implement scalable cloud platform solutions that improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity across engineering teams.
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards, reusable modules, and best practices to ensure consistency and reduce operational risk.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of CI/CD platforms, enabling secure, automated, and high-velocity software delivery.
- Architect and optimize multi-region cloud infrastructure, networking patterns, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Drive observability strategy, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and SLO implementation to improve system reliability and incident response.
- Embed security, compliance, and governance principles into all platform and infrastructure designs, ensuring secure-by-default systems.
- Influence cost optimization strategies through automation, tagging standards, usage monitoring, and financial governance practices.
- Provide technical leadership across teams, mentoring engineers, resolving cross-team dependencies, and aligning stakeholders on platform direction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud/DevOps or platform engineering environments.
- Strong expertise with AWS or Azure cloud platforms and production-scale infrastructure.
- Deep experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions (e.g., Terraform) and automation frameworks.
- Strong background in building secure, scalable CI/CD systems and delivery pipelines.
- Proven experience designing high availability, disaster recovery, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Solid understanding of hybrid networking, cloud security baselines, and enterprise-scale platform standards.
- Experience with observability tools, metrics, logging, and distributed system monitoring.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to influence technical decisions.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using version control systems for collaborative engineering workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred, along with cloud certifications being a strong plus.
