Nursing Clinical Placement Coordinator
Position Summary
Coordinates nursing service line student placements at Kootenai Health in collaboration with student services, clinical departments, and academic partners. Supports the success of Transition to Practice (TTP) programs. Maintains oversight of the Nurse Mentorship Program.
Responsibilities
• Coordinates the implementation, scheduling, and communication of nursing service line student placement in collaboration with academic partners and internal stakeholders
• Serves as a liaison between academic partners and department leaders
• Ensures alignment with capacity, department readiness, and organizational priorities
• Consults on internal policies and regulations for nursing service line affiliation agreements
• Maintains accurate records and data related to student placement
• Supports the Transition to Practice (TTP) program through assistance with classroom activities, participant communication, and rounding
• Coordinates and facilitates the Nurse Mentorship Program, including mentor/mentee pairing, education, engagement tracking, and evaluation
• Collaborates with department leaders and educators to promote a positive learning environment for nursing students and new graduate nurses
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
• BSN required
• Graduate degree in nursing or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ direct patient care experience preferred
• Nursing Professional Development certification (NPD-BC) preferred
• Must be able to work effectively with all disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including presentations
• Previous experience in designing, developing, conducting and evaluating training programs for adult learners preferred
• Proficiency with a variety of computer office applications and EMRs required
• BLS required
Working Conditions
• Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
