Laboratory Technician

Summary:
SD1, a public utility that is responsible for the collection and treatment of Northern Kentucky’s wastewater, as well as regional storm water management, will be looking to fill an opening in the Operations Division for a Laboratory Technician co-op.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Transport samples from regional facilities to the laboratory.
Receive and document incoming samples in accordance with the laboratory’s sample
acceptance policy.
Check sample integrity and physical parameters, including temperature and pH.
Confirm samples against chains of custody and complete required paperwork.
Assist with end-of-day clean-up, sample disposal, and supply stocking.
Support lab preparation work, including reagent preparation, inventory management, and
glassware cleaning.
Perform other general laboratory support tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Coursework in chemistry, biology, environmental science, chemical technology, or a
related field preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
