An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Job Description Summary	The University of South Alabama’s Athletic Field Maintenance department is seeking to hire an Athletic Field Technician II. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions	Performs maintenance on athletic fields and facilities to include mowing, edging, raking, field repair and construction and other tasks assigned by the Manager of Athletic Fields. Assists in the preparation of playing surfaces and installing and repairing irrigation systems. Operates equipment such as riding lawn mower to include reel-type multiple-gang equipment, line trimmer, blower, edger, spreader, sprayer, and other equipment required for proper field maintenance. Assists in maintaining equipment and tools and keeping facilities clean. Measures and lays out playing fields and prepares fields for painting and marking according to sport specifications. Assists supervisor in analyzing turf problems such as diseases, insects, weeds and soil. Ensures compliance with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Sun Belt Conference regulations. Applies chemicals and fertilizers to playing surfaces. Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs. Works related events which may require nights and weekends. Utilizes a university vehicle to travel to and from work sites. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required. Related duties as required.
