This role focuses on investigating sophisticated scams, fraud, and other forms of online abuse involving AI products. You will assess complex and time-sensitive cases, distinguish harmful activity from legitimate use, and develop well-supported recommendations. The position combines investigative judgment, technical and analytical skills, and strong written communication. You will work with cross-functional partners and leadership as investigations develop and new abuse patterns emerge. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to product safety by turning investigative findings into practical improvements. It is well suited to an experienced investigator who can work confidently with incomplete or conflicting evidence in a rapidly evolving environment.

• Investigate potential scams and financial fraud involving AI products, including complex, coordinated, or emerging abuse patterns.
• Analyze available evidence and document clear, defensible investigative findings while distinguishing substantiated abuse from legitimate activity.
• Assess urgent and ambiguous cases and recommend proportionate actions based on the available evidence and associated risks.
• Communicate findings, uncertainty, investigative reasoning, and recommendations clearly to leadership and technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve investigative practices and strengthen responses to emerging scams and fraud.
• Adapt investigative approaches as new tactics, technologies, products, and abuse patterns develop.
• Contribute insights that can support the development of effective policies, processes, and scalable safety measures.

• At least 5 years of experience investigating online scams, financial fraud, cybercrime, or related forms of online abuse.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting applied abuse research or improving investigative methodologies and practices.
• Strong understanding of online scams and financial fraud, with the ability to adapt as tactics and risks evolve.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including the ability to work with complex information and learn new investigative tools.
• Demonstrated ability to make careful judgments using incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous evidence while clearly communicating the limits of conclusions.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-supported reports and explain findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Understanding of how AI products can be misused and the ability to adapt investigative approaches as products and associated risks change.
• Relevant language or regional expertise is an advantage.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, collaboration, and the ability to manage time-sensitive investigations.

• Base salary of $158,400–$320,000, with compensation varying based on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
