Warehouse Supervisor in Council Bluffs, Iowa at The James Skinner LLC

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. He/she is responsible for managing, ensuring inventory accuracy of all direct materials (ingredients & packaging), and including the guiding and performing of cycle counts and annual physical inventories; and assisting with and/or performing daily data entry transactions. Report inventory information to senior leadership each period end, continuously working on ways to improve the information and methods of this communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, GMP’s, and instructions.
2. Follow all safety & SQF Food Safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
3. Ensure work area and machine is clean and organized, and free of potential hazards to employees.
4. Practice to maintain safe work environment.
5. Verification that product received from internal and external vendors matches appropriate paperwork and product orders.
6. Load outbound shipments and generate bill of lading information.
7. Support production and maintenance departments in operations requiring product or material movement.
8. Maintain shipping data on the BOL and outbound trailer load sheets.
9. Inspect trailers for condition and cleanliness and document on the inspection log.
10. Check codes and materials to ensure proper product is being produced.
11. Ensure product is fit for transport prior to loading.
12. Ensure that inventory is being properly logged and tracked.
13. Report issues, problems and/or observations daily to Lead/ Manager.
14. Demonstrate positive practices with co-workers, providing regular feedback, and contributing to a positive work environment.
15. At the end of shift each person is responsible for general clean up.
16. The employee understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.
17. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Experience operating various lift equipment including Forklifts (both sit down and standup preferred), reach trucks, and motorized pallet jacks.
• Understanding of both inbound and outbound verification practices.
• Understanding of tractor trailer inspection practices.
• Ability to manually verify inbound products against vendor picklist.
• Ability to accurately create manual and automated Bills of Lading for outbound shipments.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
• A proven track record of safe work habits and a commitment to the safety of those around you.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment leading hourly employees and supporting production goals.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory, production, and operational records.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and proven track record of promoting safe work habits.
• Experience with warehouse operations, including inventory control, material handling, shipping, receiving, and equipment operation.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members while driving accountability, productivity, and performance.
• Working knowledge of production processes, quality standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous improvement practices.
