Position Description:
What You'll Do

Senior Technical Leadership Apply mastery of process design to lead complex projects while providing conceptual and specialty unit process technical skills. Develop other engineers and provide technical training to internal and external contacts.

Business Development Help identify and develop business opportunities for Anvil through technical excellence and effective client relationships. Assist with marketing and business development support for refinery operations.

Project Management Review detailed designs for technical accuracy and code compliance. Coordinate with Resource Manager for staffing, development, and training needs while mentoring junior engineers.

Refinery Specialist Focus
  • Lead early phase project development for brownfield and greenfield expansions
  • Apply holistic refinery economics knowledge to develop conceptual studies
  • Provide detailed understanding of refinery project phases and engineering
What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience: 8-25 years professional experience in oil & gas industry
  • Specialized: 8+ years in refinery operations, design, or technical service engineering
  • Industry: Multiple refinery process operations and troubleshooting expertise
  • Leadership: Supervisory/leadership experience required
  • Certifications: PE preferred, TWIC card capability required
Essential Requirements
  • Detailed refinery project front-end loading and design phase understanding
  • Strong written and verbal communication for client interaction
  • Project scope estimation, scheduling, and development abilities
  • Project management and reporting tools proficiency
  • Travel capability for remote assignments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in utilities, pipeline, and product terminals
  • Early phase project development experience
  • Holistic refinery economics understanding

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls.
  • Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for reading documents, computer screens, and technical materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
  • Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration.
  • Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
  • Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require.
  • Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.).
  • Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces.
  • Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits.
