Now Hiring: Before & After School Teacher
Martha & Mary Kids – Split Shift During the School Year
Do you love working with kids, creating meaningful learning moments, and being part of a warm, supportive team? Join us at Martha & Mary Kids as a Full-Time Teacher for our Before & After School Program!
This role is a perfect fit for someone who enjoys creativity, connection, and consistency — with a split shift schedule during the school year (mornings & afternoons) that still leaves mid-day free.
Wage: $20.00/hr. - $24.32/hr. based off experience
What You’ll Do
As a Before & After School Teacher, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and joyful environment where kids can learn, play, and grow. You will:
- Support a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of each child
- Interact, connect, and encourage children to participate in daily activities
- Prepare a warm, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
- Plan weekly curriculum-based lesson plans with your supervisor
- Provide opportunities for assistants and team members to contribute ideas
- Help supervise, train, and support staff to build a positive, cohesive team
- Communicate with families in a friendly, professional manner
- Observe and document important child behaviors and milestones
- Model and teach positive behavior-guidance techniques
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
- Maintain program materials, supplies, and classroom readiness
What You Bring
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience working with young children
- Ability to obtain:
- Food Handler’s Permit
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Child Care Basics within 3 months of hire
- Ability to pass the Washington State DCYF Background Check
- ECE Requirements:
- ECE Initial Certificate within 5 years
- Progress toward ECE Short Certificate (or equivalent) within two years of receiving Initial Certificate
(or within two years of hire if you already have the Initial Certificate)

- Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued at varying rates depending on length of employment. Accrual rates begin at 5.32 hours per month based on a 40-hour workweek. These accruals include the required sick leave per Washington State’s Paid Sick Leave Law
