PTC Windchill Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PTC Windchill Developer based in the United States.

The PTC Windchill Developer will design, develop, and enhance enterprise product lifecycle management solutions that support engineering and manufacturing operations.
This role focuses on building scalable customizations, integrations, and workflows within the Windchill PLM platform.
The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to transform complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Java development expertise, deep Windchill platform knowledge, and a commitment to delivering reliable production-ready applications.
Working in a remote environment, the developer will contribute to platform improvements, system integrations, and long-term PLM strategy.
This is an opportunity for an experienced PLM professional to make a direct impact on digital product development processes.

Accountabilities:

The PTC Windchill Developer will be responsible for developing, customizing, integrating, and supporting Windchill-based solutions while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve product lifecycle management capabilities.

  • Design, develop, and maintain customizations and enhancements within the PTC Windchill PLM platform.
  • Translate engineering, manufacturing, and business requirements into scalable Windchill solutions.
  • Develop and configure Windchill workflows, lifecycle templates, and object initialization rules.
  • Build and maintain integrations using Windchill APIs, Info*Engine, and established integration patterns.
  • Perform hands-on Java development using the Windchill Java API.
  • Customize Windchill user interfaces using JSP, HTML, and related technologies.
  • Analyze and optimize Windchill data models and database interactions using SQL.
  • Support Windchill upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation efforts, and technical mentoring.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing enterprise PLM solutions and a proven ability to deliver reliable Windchill implementations in complex technical environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on PTC Windchill development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with the Windchill Java API and Java-based customization.
  • Experience with Windchill workflows, lifecycle management, and object initialization rules.
  • Working knowledge of Info*Engine and Windchill integration approaches.
  • Experience customizing Windchill interfaces using JSP and HTML.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of the Windchill data model.
  • Experience supporting Windchill upgrades, migrations, and production environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • PTC Windchill certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Creo, Arbortext, ThingWorx, Windchill RV&S (Integrity), or related PTC technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD data management workflows and cloud-based Windchill deployments is a plus.
Benefits:
