Horizon Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Supervisor to join our team based in Matamata, supporting the delivery of work across Powerco's Valley Network.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Line Mechanic, Cable Jointer or Network Electrician ready to step into a leadership role, or an established Supervisor looking for their next challenge. You'll play a key role in coordinating field teams, contractors, equipment and resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About the Role

As an Electrical Distribution Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership for field delivery activities across network maintenance, customer works and capital projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, within budget and in accordance with customer and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Lines and Technical field teams
• Plan and schedule daily work activities and allocate resources
• Coordinate fleet, equipment, materials and subcontractors
• Support project planning, job scoping and delivery programming
• Monitor project progress, costs, variations and contractual requirements
• Conduct quality audits and ensure construction standards are achieved
• Ensure project, inspection and testing documentation is completed accurately
• Review supplier and subcontractor claims
• Develop strong relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders
• Provide operational reporting and project updates
• Drive health, safety and environmental performance
• Coach, mentor and develop team members

About You

You are a safety-focused electricity industry professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes.

You take pride in supporting your team, building strong customer relationships and maintaining high standards of workmanship, compliance and safety.

Ideally You'll Have

• Qualified Line Mechanic, Cable Jointer or Registered Electrician
• Current New Zealand Practising Licence (where applicable)
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence
• Experience working on electricity distribution networks
• Previous supervision, leadership or team management experience
• Strong knowledge of HV and LV network infrastructure
• Understanding of network operating systems and industry requirements
• Contract, project or service delivery experience
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills
• Good computer, reporting and record-keeping skills
• A positive, practical and solutions-focused attitude
