Job Description
Position Summary: Responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic client relationships, and expanding business opportunities across assigned geographies and verticals. This role identifies new leads, qualifies opportunities, develops proposals and plays a critical role in transforming leads into long-term client engagements. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal leadership, leveraging deep industry knowledge, market intelligence, and consultative sales strategies to achieve corporate objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development
• Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in alignment with corporate growth strategies.
• Own revenue targets and client relationships for key accounts or regions.
• Develop strategies to expand into new geographies, vertical markets, or service lines.
• Support Client Directors by providing qualified leads, insights, and opportunities for growth.
• Meet utilization targets and/or team utilization targets.
Client Relationship Management
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business objectives and aligning company services to meet their needs.
• Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with delivery and operations teams to ensure high-quality service and client satisfaction.
Market Intelligence & Proposal Support
• Monitor broadband, telecommunications, and professional services industry trends.
• Provide insights into competitor activity, market opportunities, and emerging client needs.
• Oversee proposal development for large and complex opportunities, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
• Leverage market intelligence to guide strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
Opportunity, Revenue & Financial Oversight
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics for assigned regions or accounts.
• Maintain CRM including accurate and regular updates of the CRM system with required Client and project data.
• Provide requested Client and project updates, account reviews, quarterly reports.
• Evaluate pricing strategies, revenue models, and financial performance of business development initiatives.
• Ensure that all proposals, contracts, and agreements maximize profitability and align with company strategy.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or combination of post-secondary education and directly related work experience in a related field.
Experience:
Required:
• 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account support, preferably in telecommunications, broadband, or professional services.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in presenting ideas and coordinating discussions internally.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Vantagepoint) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
• Understanding of broadband/telecommunications industry, consulting, or engineering services.
• Exposure to proposal development or project coordination.
• Consultative approach to client engagement and solution development.
• Familiarity with broadband or professional services certifications.
Licenses, Certifications, Training Requirements:
• A valid motor vehicle driver’s license in good standing is required. No DWI/DUI convictions.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors:
• Work is primarily computer work, and most assignments are performed in an office-type environment.
• Flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time.
• Attending conferences and events in medium—and large-sized event areas and will interact with attendees.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Location: Remote; Ideal candidate will be located in south Texas or east Kentucky/Tennessee.
Travel: Travel is estimated 50% of the time.
In the spirit of pay transparency, the starting base pay range for this position is exclusive of benefits. If you are hired at Finley Engineering, your base pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience related to the position. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and will also consider internal equity of our current associates as a part of the final offer. Hiring at the high end of the range would not be typical.
