Job Description

The Department Supervisor 1 is responsible for ensuring all safety, warehouse, and department standards are met by directing and training associates within their department. This is an hourly position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and directs associates for task completion.
  • Trains new associates on job tasks and job knowledge in the department.
  • Assists associates in completing their job tasks.
  • Leads pre-shift meetings under the direction of management.
  • Organizes department safety stretches routine.
  • Completes the same tasks as associates in their department.
  • Identifies and solves basic issues and problems.
  • Operates powered equipment as needed.
  • Adheres to safety standards and practices.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in other areas of the Distribution Center as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have knowledge of:

  • Understanding of the job duties of each hourly position within the department.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent understanding of the safety policy and practices.
  • Excellent understanding of company policies and procedures.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Including working extended hours, handle high volume workloads
  • Must wear ankle high leather work boots
  • Must be able to operate/use floats and hand carts
  • Ability to work in hot, cold and/or sudden temperature changes including humid
  • Ability work in a dusty and/or dirty environment
  • Ability to work on uneven surfaces and with some mechanical hazards (saws, moving objects, vehicles, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a noisy work environment

  • Squat/Kneel
  • Reach Above Shoulder
  • Lift/Carry: Over 50lbs 1-6 Ft.
  • Push/Pull: Over 50lbs 1-6 Ft.
