Job Description
Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L. is a growing civil litigation firm with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and New York. We handle sophisticated, high-stakes matters for businesses, institutions, insurers, and individuals—and we are looking for lawyers who want more than a job description. At BRPC, you can build a real litigation practice, work directly with experienced trial lawyers, and take on meaningful responsibility from the start. Our Tampa office seeks a litigation attorney with experience in professional liability, condominium and homeowners' association disputes, employment, architects and engineers claims, construction defect, real estate litigation, and legal malpractice.
This is not a position where associates stay behind the scenes. You will help drive strategy, manage matters, take depositions, argue motions, work directly with clients and carriers, and develop the judgment that makes a strong litigator. The ideal candidate is curious, confident, highly organized, and ready to take ownership in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where strong work is noticed.
Why BRPC:
• Get meaningful litigation experience early, including strategy, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and client contact.
• Work directly with partners who are invested in your development and want you to build confidence as a litigator.
• Handle sophisticated civil litigation matters for businesses, institutions, insurers, and individuals.
• Join a collaborative, fast-moving team where strong work is noticed and initiative is valued.
• Build a long-term career with hybrid flexibility, professional development support, and room to grow.
Responsibilities:
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including strategy, deadlines, and day-to-day docket management.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, client reports, and other litigation documents.
• Take depositions and handle hearings, mediations, and other case events.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
• Develop case strategy and move matters forward efficiently and independently.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor and active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• 3–15 years of civil litigation experience, with experience in at least one of the Tampa office’s core practice areas.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and case-management skills.
• Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida is a plus.
• Familiarity with Aderant Expert Sierra, iTimekeep, and NetDocuments is a plus.
How to apply:
Submit a resume, a writing sample from a matter you handled, and a cover letter describing your relevant litigation experience. All inquiries are handled confidentially.
