Supply Chain Analyst in Farmers Branch, Texas at SHEARER SUPPLY, LLC

Position Overview

Shearer Supply is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Supply Chain Analyst to join our team. This position is responsible for purchasing products, managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels across our distribution network. The Buyer will work closely with the Residential divisions to ensure product availability, competitive costs, and efficient inventory management across all warehouse locations.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and negotiation skills, understands inventory management, and can balance product availability with budget and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities across Shearer Supply’s Residential divisions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to support company purchasing needs.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and vendor agreements to maximize cost savings and profitability.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to maintain appropriate stock availability.
• Work with vendors to expedite orders, resolve shortages, and address delivery delays or product availability issues.
• Balance inventory investment with customer demand, warehouse capacity, and established purchasing budgets.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, reduce costs, optimize inventory, and increase gross profit.
• Review vendor performance, pricing structures, and product availability to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Develop and maintain purchasing reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory turnover, gross profit, purchasing performance, vendor performance, and forecasting accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams and management to support purchasing strategies and overall business goals.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure purchase orders and vendor information are up to date.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing desk-related tasks.
• Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones.
• Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents clearly.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through written communication.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to maintain focus, organization, and productivity during extended periods of work.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment.
