Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Platform Engineer based in United States.
As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will shape the foundations that enable engineering teams and AI coding agents to build, test, deploy, and operate software effectively. You will take a hands-on leadership role across infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, observability, developer tooling, and secure delivery. Your work will establish scalable standards and create shared tools and workflows that improve engineering velocity across the organization. You will also help adapt development environments and repositories for increasingly capable AI agents. Working closely with product teams, you will balance technical leverage with a strong internal-user mindset. This is an opportunity to influence how modern software is created while remaining deeply involved in code, infrastructure, and delivery pipelines.
- Shape the platform and infrastructure foundations that product teams rely on to build and operate their services.
- Improve the complete development lifecycle, from local development and CI/CD through deployment and production feedback.
- Define and drive engineering standards for testing, infrastructure as code, observability, and secure software delivery, while helping teams adopt them effectively.
- Build shared tooling, templates, and golden paths that provide meaningful leverage and create workflows teams actively want to use.
- Own secure delivery practices end-to-end, integrating security scanning, secrets management, dependency and software supply-chain controls, and penetration-testing workflows into core delivery pipelines.
- Monitor and anticipate changes in the security landscape, particularly as AI agents influence how vulnerabilities emerge and are exploited.
- Improve repository structures, development conventions, tooling, documentation, test signals, and feedback loops so AI coding agents can work efficiently and reliably.
- Measure platform impact through DORA metrics and qualitative feedback from engineering teams, using these insights to continuously improve developer experience and productivity.
Requirements:
- Strong software engineering background with significant hands-on development experience.
- Proven experience designing and building internal engineering platforms, with strong judgment around what to abstract, expose, standardize, or leave to individual teams.
- Deep expertise in CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and developer tooling.
- Strong understanding of modern software security and secure delivery practices, including shift-left security and SecDevOps principles.
- Product-oriented approach to internal platforms, treating engineers and AI agents as users and measuring whether tooling genuinely improves their productivity.
- Practical fluency with AI coding agents, including an understanding of how they work, where they tend to fail, and what environments and workflows help them perform effectively.
- Strong ability to lead through technical direction and hands-on execution rather than relying solely on coordination or delegation.
- Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright and understanding of how to scale automated testing is a strong plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a flexible, global environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
Benefits:
- Fully remote and globally flexible work environment.
- Opportunity to shape the future of software development and AI-assisted engineering.
- Significant ownership and visibility into how your work impacts products, engineering teams, and business outcomes.
- Culture that strongly values individual contributors who lead through hands-on execution and technical impact.
- Opportunity to collaborate with experienced AI and software engineering professionals.
- Equity plan designed to align individual success with the long-term growth of the company.
- Inclusive, equal-opportunity workplace committed to diversity and collaboration.
