POSITION SUMMARYA & Associates is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents for opportunities with a construction client in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The Construction Superintendent will provide day-to-day field leadership for assigned construction projects and will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, monitoring workmanship, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with plans and specifications.
This is a hands-on field leadership position requiring strong construction knowledge, organization, communication, and the ability to effectively manage multiple trades and priorities on an active jobsite.
Candidates with varying levels of superintendent experience are encouraged to apply. Compensation will be determined based on experience, project background, and demonstrated ability to independently manage construction-site operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage daily field operations at assigned construction sites.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, trades, and field personnel.
- Maintain daily focus on project schedule, productivity, quality, and safety.
- Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
- Plan and coordinate construction sequencing and short-term schedules.
- Conduct daily site walks and monitor work progress.
- Ensure subcontractors perform work according to plans, specifications, and established quality standards.
- Identify construction conflicts, deficiencies, delays, and field issues and work with the project team to resolve them.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, inspections, and site logistics.
- Conduct or participate in subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Maintain accurate daily reports regarding manpower, progress, site conditions, deliveries, and significant events.
- Enforce company and site-specific safety policies and immediately address unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate required inspections and ensure work is prepared for inspection.
- Monitor completion of punch-list and corrective work.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and safe construction site.
- Communicate regularly with project managers regarding progress, scheduling, risks, and project needs.
- Assist with project closeout and turnover activities.
- Perform additional superintendent duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in construction field supervision required.
- Experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, or similar construction leadership role preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements and jobsite best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain schedules and hold subcontractors accountable for performance.
- Strong attention to detail and construction quality.
- Ability to identify field issues and develop practical solutions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software.
- Previous experience independently managing active construction sites.
- Experience coordinating inspections, punch lists, scheduling, and project closeout.
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout active construction sites.
- Climb stairs and ladders and navigate uneven or unfinished surfaces.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and move throughout construction areas.
- Occasionally lift or move construction-related materials or equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely access all areas of an active construction site.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThis is primarily a field-based position. The work environment may include exposure to heat, rain, dust, noise, construction equipment, moving vehicles, and active trades.
Work hours may vary based on project schedules, and occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend work may be required.
COMPENSATION$50,000 – $100,000 annually, based on experience.
Because of the broad salary range, candidates with different levels of superintendent experience may be considered. Final compensation will reflect the candidate's construction background, ability to independently manage projects, project size and complexity experience, and overall qualifications.
