The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator I located in either Max at the Biota Water Plant or the Minot Water Treatment Plant. With an application deadline of Friday, October 30th at 4:00pm 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.

All applicants will be required to complete an online Civil Service Exam. The exam link will be sent via Test Genius to the email address provided on the application. Exam deadline: Sunday, November 1st 2026.

Nature of Work

This is entry-level technical work assisting in the proper and effective operation of a water treatment plant. Employees in this class will work under direct and continuing supervision of an administrative superior until receiving a Grade I certification from the North Dakota State Department of Environmental Quality. Education, Experience, Other Requirements

Completion of high school and one year of experience in general laboring and construction work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.Possession of a valid North Dakota Driver License.Possession of or ability to obtain, within probationary period, a North Dakota Commercial Driver License with proper endorsements.
