Industrial Hygienist I in Liverpool, New York at Barton & Loguidice

We are currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist I to work in our Utica or Syracuse, NY office. Applicants should have 5-10 years of experience in similar roles. Duties include:

• Conduct asbestos and lead-based paint inspections, surveys, abatement monitoring, environmental sampling, industrial hygiene sampling, and indoor air quality services;
• Conduct industrial hygiene surveys to assess chemical, physical, and biological hazards, such as worker personal breathing zone sampling for airborne contaminants, or noise monitoring;
• Support in-house industrial hygiene monitoring and safety equipment maintenance;
• Participate in indoor environmental quality investigations or surveys;
• Perform environmental sampling of soil, water, air, and waste materials;
• Perform data analysis and reporting based on review of technical data;
• Conduct environmental site evaluations and assist in preparation of follow-up reports; and,
• Complete other tasks as necessary for client projects or to support internal technical requirements.

• Applicants should have an A.S. or a B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other related field, or a combination of applicable coursework and experience.
• NYS asbestos certifications (Asbestos Safety Training/ Project Monitor/ Inspector), EPA lead inspector certifications, and other OSHA training a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Candidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.
• This position requires some travel, periodic assignments with 2nd Shift hours, outdoor work in all types of weather.
• Availability for occasional extended field assignments and overnight travel predominantly throughout New York, and less frequent travel throughout the Northeast.
• This position also requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment and materials. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Estimated Pay Range: $23 – 27/hour

Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education and training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
