Position Overview

Legacy Solutions Inc. is urgently seeking a CERTIFIED TEACHER for a Long-Term Middle School Special Education Substitute Teacher position at a school located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced certified educator who is passionate about supporting middle school students with diverse learning needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, experience implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and the ability to provide effective instruction to students in grades 6–8 in a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with middle school curriculum standards and students' IEP goals.

Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and individualized instructional strategies.

Maintain a safe, positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment for students in grades 6–8.

Utilize effective classroom management and positive behavioral intervention strategies appropriate for middle school students.

Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and support personnel.

Monitor, assess, and document student academic and behavioral progress.

Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.

Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.

Maintain accurate classroom records and follow school policies and special education regulations.

Communicate professionally with school leadership, staff, and families as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Must hold a current, valid teaching certification.

Georgia Special Education teaching certification strongly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.

Previous classroom teaching experience, preferably in middle school special education.

Understanding of IEP implementation, differentiated instruction, and classroom accommodations.

Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively with middle school students from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.

Must successfully complete required background screening and employment verification.

Must be available to begin immediately and commit to a long-term assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

Georgia certification in Special Education or an applicable teaching field.

Experience teaching middle school students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or emotional and behavioral needs.

Experience in urban or high-needs middle school environments.

Familiarity with IDEA, IEP compliance, and positive behavioral interventions.

Experience in inclusion, resource, or self-contained special education classrooms.
