This role sits at the intersection of program cost management, vendor tooling strategy, and people leadership within an advanced vehicle development environment. You will be responsible for both hands-on ownership of key cost and tooling deliverables and the leadership of a team delivering critical financial and sourcing insights across major program milestones. The position requires balancing technical depth with operational leadership, ensuring high-quality, decision-ready inputs that directly influence program affordability and sourcing decisions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, purchasing, finance, and program teams in a highly cross-functional setting. This is a high-impact role where strong analytical capability meets organizational leadership and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will act as a working supervisor responsible for both direct execution and team leadership across PPCO AVD PCMA and vendor tooling activities supporting vehicle and propulsion programs. You will ensure accurate cost and tooling insights are delivered on time and aligned with key program milestones, enabling informed sourcing and affordability decisions.

  • Own selected program cost management and vendor tooling deliverables while supervising team execution across multiple workstreams
  • Provide accurate material cost and vendor tooling insights to support program targets, sourcing decisions, and financial planning
  • Lead vendor tooling estimation processes, data governance, and standardization efforts to improve quality, consistency, and speed
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and Cost Engineering to align on cost and tooling strategies
  • Oversee intake, prioritization, and coordination of tooling requests to ensure efficient workload management and execution
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standard work development to enhance scalability and reduce rework
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through both direct contribution and effective team oversight across program milestones
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in cost management, automotive program finance, or related engineering and sourcing environments, along with demonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional settings. You are analytical, structured, and able to influence decisions through data-driven insights.

  • 5+ years of experience in program cost management, product finance, purchasing support, or related automotive/engineering fields
  • Experience leading teams or cross-functional initiatives in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
  • Experience working with program milestones, sourcing processes, and cost development workflows
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels using clear communication and structured reasoning
  • Strong understanding of cost estimating, vendor tooling, or automotive product development processes
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with cost systems and analytics tools is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and responsibilities
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contribution options
  • Paid time off, holidays, and flexible work arrangements depending on role location
  • Professional development opportunities and internal career mobility
  • Inclusive and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and growth
  • Access to tools, systems, and resources supporting advanced product development programs
