POOL SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pool Supervisor is responsible for the seamless day-to-day operation of the pool area, delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role is both supervisory and hands-on, the Pool Supervisor actively engages with guests, supports Food & Beverage operations, ensures entrance compliance, and maintains the elevated standards. The ideal candidate leads by example, anticipates guest needs before they arise, and cultivates a warm, exclusive, and energetic atmosphere at the pool.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Service
• Greet all arriving guests warmly, verify hotel-guest status, issue wristbands based on room type, and help guests get settled comfortably.
• Offer water, towels, menus, and other welcome amenities upon arrival; proactively anticipate and fulfill guest needs throughout their visit.
• Deliver personalized service moments for guests — remembering preferences, celebrating special occasions, and elevating routine interactions into memorable experiences.
• Build genuine relationships with returning guests; maintain working knowledge of their preferences and tailor service accordingly.
• Maintain pool exclusivity in a warm, professional manner, ensuring only registered hotel guests access the pool area at all times.
• Actively circulate the pool deck, checking in with all guests and addressing needs, concerns, or feedback in real time.
Food & Beverage Support
• Maintain full, up-to-date knowledge of the food and beverage menu — including seasonal specials, ingredients, and allergens — to confidently assist guests with ordering.
• Support servers and bartenders by taking drink and food orders, running items, and proactively bussing and resetting tables throughout the day.
• Ensure consistent water and beverage service throughout the pool deck.
• Promote F&B offerings organically through genuine guest interactions, contributing to revenue goals through attentive, non-intrusive suggestive selling.
Operations & Maintenance
• Oversee daily pool set-up and breakdown, ensuring furniture is properly arranged, towels are stocked and organized, and all amenities are replenished before opening.
• Monitor pool & restroom, throughout the day; coordinate with Housekeeping when refreshes, towel pickups, or deep cleans are needed.
• Manage inventory of sunscreen, towels, magazines, lotions, and all other poolside amenities; communicate reorder needs to management proactively.
• Ensure all pool furniture is properly maintained — free of damage, dirt, and debris — and that no furniture is relocated without authorization.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and visually impeccable pool deck at all times throughout the operating day.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce all pool safety rules and policies consistently and professionally, prioritizing the wellbeing of every guest.
• Monitor the pool deck for potential hazards, unsafe behavior, or situations requiring intervention; respond calmly and decisively in emergencies.
• Maintain diligent records of all guest arrivals and departures; ensure no unauthorized individuals access the pool area at any time.
Communication & Coordination
• Maintain active radio communication with Security, Housekeeping, Engineering, and F&B throughout the shift.
• Serve as the primary point of contact at the pool for all inter-departmental coordination, escalating issues to management as appropriate.
• Communicate proactively with management regarding staffing needs, operational issues, guest feedback, supply shortages, and any incidents.
• Complete any opening, closing, and daily reporting duties as required by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in hospitality, hotel operations, or Food & Beverage service strongly preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Outgoing, approachable personality with a genuine warmth and ability to connect with guests of all backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated; takes initiative and consistently strives to exceed expectations.
• Strong situational awareness and composure — observant, safety-conscious, and able to react calmly and decisively in emergencies.
• Demonstrates genuine care and compassion for guests and team members; actively listens and seeks to understand needs.
• Builds trust through clear, professional communication and strong social awareness.
• Adaptable to the fast-paced, dynamic nature of a hotel pool environment; manages unexpected changes without losing focus.
• Able and willing to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able and willing to work extended shifts outdoors in hot summer conditions.
• Reliable personal transportation for routine duties and emergency availability.
Preferred
• CPR and First Aid certifications (will be required within 30 days of hire if not already certified).
• Experience in luxury or full-service hotel environments.
• TABC or responsible alcohol service certification.
