Requisition Number:R160526 EMEMERGENCY ROOM EMT TECHNICIAN - Tazewell Community Hospital - Flex or PRN (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:The Emergency Medical Technician for the Emergency Room assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities in the Emergency room.
Successful candidate will work various shifts and hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Emergency Room
- Assists with activities of daily living, comfort care and nutritional support under supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines,
- May perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed.
- P rovides patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
- Maintains a clean safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and data collection as pertinent to the patient population.
- Transports patients in hospital observing safety guidelines.
- Maintains advanced transport medical knowledge and abilities.
- Interacts with physicians, patients, families, staff members and community.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: none
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic required. AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards.
