Autoweld Helper in BROUSSARD, Louisiana at Ideal Steel LLC

Ideal Steel is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Autoweld Helper to support automated welding operations at our Broussard facility. This role assists with material preparation, machine setup, finished-part handling, quality inspection, equipment cleaning, and workplace organization.

The Autoweld Helper works closely with the Autoweld Operator and production team to maintain safe, efficient workflows and support the production of quality metal components.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, move, stage, and organize materials for autoweld production.
• Assist the Autoweld Operator with equipment preparation and setup.
• Load, unload, and remove components as directed.
• Monitor the process and report equipment, material, or production concerns.
• Inspect completed components for visible defects or damage.
• Perform basic equipment cleaning and assist with routine care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all safety requirements and use required PPE.
• Support production schedules and collaborate with team members.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and complete other assigned production duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively with operators and production team members.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to learn.
• Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Experience around welding, automated equipment, metal fabrication, or material handling preferred.
• Basic understanding of welding processes and metal properties preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, material handling, and repetitive tasks. The position must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work around noise, heat, sparks, airborne particles, welding activity, and moving equipment.
