Front Counter & Warehouse Associate - PRC Industrial in Westbrook, Maine at Singer Industrial

PRC Industrial is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Front Counter & Warehouse Associate to join our team. This is a hands on position in a busy hydraulic and industrial hose and conveyor belt shop. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers, working with their hands, and learning new skills in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the front counter and help identify the products and services they need
• Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications
• Measure, cut, assemble, and crimp hose using shop equipment
• Receive, organize, and put away inventory and materials
• Pick and prepare customer orders
• Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials
• Learn to measure, prep, and fabricate conveyor belting
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop and warehouse
• Assist with other warehouse, counter, and fabrication duties as needed
• Provide friendly, professional, and responsive customer service

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude is a must
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• Ability and willingness to learn hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and conveyor belt fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow measurements and specifications
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast paced environment
• Comfortable interacting directly with customers
• Ability to safely lift and handle industrial products and materials
• Willingness to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
• Commitment to following established safety procedures

Preferred Experience

Previous experience with hydraulic hose, industrial hose, conveyor belting, industrial distribution, warehouse operations, or mechanical fabrication is a big plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person who has strong mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

We are looking for someone who can become a versatile member of the team. This position combines customer service, warehouse work, and hands on fabrication. The right candidate will be comfortable moving between the front counter and the shop throughout the day and taking ownership of getting the customer what they need.
