Job Description
Position Overview:
This seasonal, part-time role is responsible for monitoring the grain pits and dumping customer corn and soybeans during harvest. This position keeps grain moving safely and efficiently through the receiving pits while providing excellent service to our customers. Shift options are available during the day, evening, and weekends.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Monitor grain pits during unloading to ensure grain flows properly.
- Assist customers with dumping corn and soybeans, safely directing trucks and trailers on and off the pit.
- Open and close pit gates and operate augers, conveyors, and other grain handling equipment as trained.
- Keep the dump area, pits, scale, and surrounding grounds clean and free of grain, dust, and debris.
- Communicate with scale and operations personnel to keep grain moving to the correct destination.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including required personal protective equipment.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service during busy harvest hours.
- Report equipment malfunctions, plugs, or safety hazards to management immediately.
- Assist with general housekeeping and grounds maintenance during slower periods.
- Assist with other operational needs as available, approved by management.

Requirements:Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. No prior grain handling experience required; training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work scheduled shifts throughout harvest
- Willingness to learn grain handling equipment and safety procedures
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for the length of the scheduled shift
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat & kneel
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Capable to do repeated actions
- Effectively communicate with team members
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work around grain dust, noise, and moving equipment
Work Environment
- Schedule: Seasonal, part time. Shift options are available during the day, evening, and weekends. Must work scheduled days and hours. Hours will vary with harvest conditions and may include extended days and weekends.
- Environment: indoors and outdoors. Will be exposed to grain dust and varying weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Required personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn as directed.
