Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help evolve and modernize how our Public Warning products are built, deployed, upgraded, and operated across both on-premise and cloud-based environments. This is a remote/home-based opportunity for candidates located in Norway.
This is a highly impactful engineering role focused on automation, platform reliability, delivery efficiency, and operational excellence. Our Public Warning solutions support mission-critical communication systems where availability, security, resilience, and trust are essential.
While many customer deployments today remain on-premise, we are actively accelerating our transition toward more cloud-native delivery models. In this role, you will play a key part in enabling that transformation by improving deployment automation, delivery tooling, platform standardization, and operational scalability.
Although positioned within Engineering, this role works closely with Professional Services and other cross-functional teams to simplify customer deployments, reduce operational complexity, and improve the overall delivery experience.
You will take ownership of the internal delivery platform for our Public Warning products and continuously enhance it in collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
As part of our broader engineering evolution, we are increasingly adopting AI-enabled engineering practices and automation. You do not need to be an AI expert, but we are looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic, and open to leveraging AI tools to improve engineering workflows, efficiency, and productivity.
- Own, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and internal delivery tooling for Public Warning products.
- Design and develop reusable Jenkins and GitLab pipeline templates and automation frameworks.
- Drive automation across deployments, upgrades, configuration management, operational workflows, and technical documentation.
- Work within Kubernetes-based environments across both cloud and on-premise infrastructures.
- Support and optimize infrastructure hosted within AWS and OVH environments.
- Use technologies such as Ansible, Helm, Terraform, Python, and scripting to reduce manual operational effort and improve platform reliability.
- Enhance certificate management, observability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness across environments.
- Work with technologies including Grafana, Zabbix, OpenTelemetry, HAProxy, MariaDB, Kafka, and OpenShift.
- Create and maintain scripts, installation materials, operational runbooks, and technical documentation for Engineering and Professional Services teams.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams and occasionally participate in customer discussions to better understand deployment challenges and operational pain points.
- Support escalations and troubleshooting activities when required. There is currently no formal on-call rotation associated with this role.
We are looking for a senior-level engineer with strong experience in platform engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), infrastructure automation, or complex enterprise software delivery environments.
You should have hands-on experience across several of the following areas:
- Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and GitLab runners
- Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized deployments
- Ansible, Python, scripting, and infrastructure automation
- AWS, Linux systems, virtual machines, and infrastructure operations
- Secure system configuration and certificate management
- Monitoring and observability tooling such as Grafana, Zabbix, and OpenTelemetry
- Load balancing technologies, particularly HAProxy
- Technologies such as MariaDB, Kafka, OpenShift, and Terraform
You do not need experience across every technology listed above. We value strong engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, ownership, adaptability, and willingness to learn and continuously improve.
