Job Description

Field Service Manager

FLSA: Nonexempt (Hourly)

Department: Service

Location: StationServ - Little Rock Branch

Reports To: Vice President, Operations

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

StationServ is seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to oversee and manage field service operations within an assigned territory or branch. This role is responsible for ensuring service activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality — including the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and compliance work performed on petroleum equipment, fuel systems, and related infrastructure.

The Field Service Manager serves as a hands-on leader, trainer, and customer advocate. The position partners closely with the Construction and Service departments, the sales team, dispatch, and asset management to deliver complete, functional customer sites; develop the technical capabilities of the service team; and grow service revenue through both retention of existing customers and acquisition of new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the field trainer for service technicians, responding to escalated or problem service calls and providing hands-on coaching and support to developing technicians
  • Coordinate closely with the Construction and Service departments to ensure customer sites are delivered complete, fully operational, and ready for opening
  • Ensure all required site documentation — including calibration records, startup paperwork, and placed-in-service documentation — is completed accurately and submitted to the office and applicable state regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
  • Be present on-site for customer opening day to provide direct support, address last-minute training needs, and resolve any final repairs or adjustments
  • Conduct post-service site visits for quality control, identifying recurring issues and reporting additional training needs for technicians
  • Visit former customers to mend relationships, address past concerns, and regain their business
  • Visit potential new customers to promote service sales, recognizing that multiple touchpoints may be required to earn the business
  • Support large-scale service projects, such as mass equipment upgrades, by partnering with dispatch to staff adequate service labor on-site and requesting additional technician support from other branches when needed
  • Support local branch operations, including assisting the sales team with quotes, preparing service quotes for project-based service work, and coordinating with asset managers on service vehicle maintenance and readiness
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards, OSHA regulations, and StationServ safety protocols, including required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Foster a team-oriented, collaborative work environment and partner with other team members to achieve branch, departmental, and company goals
  • Model and promote StationServ’s culture and core values in all internal and external interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in field service management, lead technician, or a related role within petroleum equipment, fueling infrastructure, or a comparable industrial service environment
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Strong technical knowledge of petroleum equipment and the ability to train, coach, and support technicians at varying skill levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and teams, including Construction, Service, Sales, Dispatch, and Asset Management
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced field environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and field service dispatch or service management software
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel to various jobsites and customer locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree, technical school certification, or trade school training in a related discipline
  • Underground Storage Tank (UST) Class A/B Operator certification
  • Manufacturer certifications on dispensers, tank monitoring, or POS systems (e.g., Gilbarco, Wayne, Veeder-Root, OPW, Franklin Fueling)
  • Tank tightness or precision testing certification
  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Experience working with EPA, state, and local environmental and compliance requirements for fuel systems

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office, branch, and on-site field environments, with frequent travel to customer sites and fueling stations
  • Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all weather conditions, which may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, and stretching for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Exposure to typical fueling and construction site conditions and hazards, including flammable materials, confined spaces, noise, dust, heavy equipment, heights, and weather extremes
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with StationServ and OSHA safety requirements
  • Must be available on-call to support emergencies, escalated service issues, and significant customer events outside of standard working hours as needed

Compensation & Benefits

StationServ offers a competitive, performance-driven compensation program along with:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
