Job Description

Cardiac Non-Invasive Techician (Stress Tech)

  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • Performs a variety of non-invasive cardiology tests that include: exercise testing, EKG’s, Nuclear stress testing, Dobutamine stress testing, and Holter and Event monitoring. Prepares test results and sends test results through software. Performs other duties under the supervision of nurse or physician as needed.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • High School or Equivalent (GED)
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 1 to 3 years experience in healtcare setting and/or EKG preferred
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • Completion of EKG recognition class within 6 months of hire
    • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
    • Training as a Medical Assistant or LPN is desirable.
    • CCT certification preferred, but not required.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Demonstrates proficiency in procedures listed in EKG Technician position.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in arrhythmia recognition.
    • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clerical functions related to scheduling, record keeping and interaction with patients.
    • Ability to read, write, hear, and speak the English language fluently.
    • Must be able to demonstrate competence with all associated equipment used.
    • Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Performs all aspects of Cardiac Stress Testing.
    • Positive communications skills, ability to successfully interact with all customers and staff, continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative, and service oriented manner.
    • Scheduling inpatient appointments for Cardiac Services; providing preparation instructions for testing.
    • Prep patients for test.
    • Recover patients from test.
    • Report any abnormal values to nurse and or physician.
