This role sits at the intersection of leadership, compliance, and financial recovery operations within a member-focused financial services environment.
You will oversee a team responsible for post-charge-off recovery, bankruptcy, and collections activities, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and regulatory compliance.
The position requires strong decision-making in a highly regulated space involving debtor/creditor law and collections practices.
You will play a key role in improving recovery outcomes while maintaining ethical standards and protecting member relationships.

- Supervise, coach, and support a team handling collections, bankruptcy, and post-charge-off recovery activities, ensuring performance and service quality targets are met.
- Ensure all recovery and collections processes comply with applicable federal and state regulations, including debtor/creditor laws and fair debt collection practices.
- Review, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and risk control.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align recovery strategies with broader organizational goals and policy requirements.
- Exercise sound judgment in resolving escalated cases and guiding decisions related to delinquent accounts and recovery actions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant education is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of bankruptcy experience and 2 years in collections, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of collections law, including FDCPA, debtor/creditor regulations, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and litigation processes.
- Experience in post charge-off recovery, consumer lending, and preferably mortgage or business lending collections.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex or sensitive cases professionally.
- Proficiency with call center environments and collection software systems, along with strong general PC and office tool skills.
- Ability to work in a sedentary, detail-oriented role requiring extended computer and phone use.
