This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise, customer support, and commercial impact within the pulp and paper industry. The Technical Service Manager will act as a trusted advisor to industrial customers, ensuring the safe and effective use of chlorate-based solutions in bleaching processes. Working remotely across the United States and Canada, with frequent travel to customer sites, the position plays a key role in strengthening operational performance, safety standards, and product optimization. The role involves close collaboration with sales, operations, and technical teams to resolve issues and drive value creation. It is highly field-oriented and requires strong hands-on experience in pulp and paper manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will directly influence customer satisfaction, product performance, and long-term business growth.
- Conduct on-site technical audits of pulp and paper customers to ensure safe and efficient chlorate usage
- Analyze operational data and identify performance gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Provide actionable recommendations and best practices to improve process safety and productivity
- Serve as the primary technical contact for product-related issues and customer inquiries
- Coordinate internal technical resources to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational challenges
- Deliver training to customer personnel on safe handling, storage, and application of products
- Support customer trials, including pre-delivery reviews and on-site commissioning visits
- Prepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to customers and internal teams
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support existing accounts and develop new opportunities
- Identify and communicate value-creation opportunities aligned with business strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical field
- 5–10 years of experience in Technical Service, Process Engineering, or Sales in the Pulp & Paper industry
- Strong expertise in chlorate bleaching processes and industrial pulp & paper operations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions
- Ability to work independently in a field-based, remote environment
- Commercial mindset with a customer-centric approach
- Willingness to travel 25–40% across the United States and Canada
- Competitive base salary: $120,000–$130,000+ bonus
