This role sits at the intersection of technical engineering and strategic sales, supporting high-value data center and enterprise accounts within a complex, national-scale go-to-market organization. You will partner closely with Major Account Managers to translate account strategies into executable engineering and commercial solutions that drive revenue and long-term customer success. The position plays a key role in shaping technical proposals, guiding solution design, and ensuring alignment across customer stakeholders and internal teams. Operating within mission-critical infrastructure environments, you will contribute directly to the delivery of advanced electrical systems for large-scale data center customers. This is a highly collaborative, field-engaged role requiring strong customer presence and technical credibility. You will help ensure consistent execution of strategic account plans while influencing deal outcomes and solution architecture.
- Partner closely with Major Account Managers to execute strategic account plans and translate business objectives into technical and commercial deliverables.
- Lead solution design efforts, supporting bid preparation, pricing alignment, and proposal development for complex electrical infrastructure projects.
- Conduct regular customer engagement visits to strengthen relationships and gather requirements across strategic accounts.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and service, to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Support executive-level customer interactions by providing technical expertise and solution insights across the customer lifecycle.
- Manage opportunity tracking, forecasting, and CRM updates to ensure accurate pipeline visibility and reporting.
- Analyze competitive landscape and customer needs to inform solution positioning and account strategy.
- Support issue resolution and escalation management to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery excellence.
- Collaborate across business units to ensure consistent execution of MTDC/data center account strategies.
This role requires strong experience in technical sales or sales engineering within the electrical or infrastructure industry, ideally supporting complex, large-scale customer environments such as data centers. Candidates should bring a strong mix of technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and customer-facing experience, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
- 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry, technical sales, or sales engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, and related infrastructure components.
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical infrastructure customers is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop proposals, prepare bids, and support value-based selling strategies.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and sales reporting processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and commercial teams in a matrix environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Competitive base salary with performance-based incentive compensation (target total compensation approximately $123,750 – $181,500 USD).
