About Foxleigh Mine:
Foxleigh Mine is located 15km south of Middlemount and approx. 275km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine is in its 26th year of operation producing premium PCI metallurgical coal for use in steel manufacturing. The opportunity:
We are seeking a Mining Supervisor with OCE qualifications, who cares about their team, achieving results and the success of Foxleigh Mine. With mine life anticipated past 2040, not only will you have opportunities for growth but you will be joining a site that is progressive and committed to continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will:
- Promote and maintain safe work practices aligned with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and all relevant statutory obligations;
- Fulfil all statutory obligations under the Open Cut Examiner’s appointment;
- Lead with integrity, promoting team engagement, accountability, and positive employee relations.;
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of mining and ancillary crews, ensuring alignment with budget and production targets;
- Ensure effective execution of mining, haulage, and stockpile management strategies.
- Support and contribute to coal quality control processes, including floor cleanup and coal recovery.
- Maintain strong coordination with maintenance to ensure optimal equipment utilisation and availability.
- Identify and report opportunities for operational improvement and value creation.
About you:
- Practicing certificate as an Open Cut Examiner, gas monitoring certification, and extensive experience in coal mining practices and legislation.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating and implementing change to develop a safety-first culture, safely achieving and exceeding production targets, and the coordination of equipment, resourcing and personnel.
- RIIRIS301 / RIIWHS301 / RIICOM301 / RIIRIS402 (formerly S1, S2, S3, G2) and current Queensland Drivers Licence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work across a dynamic and diverse workforce.
- An individual who genuinely cares about the people you work with and has an ingrained passion to safely achieve or surpass pre-set production goals and targets.
