Job Description
Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, the Process Technician ensures that the quality of products remains within tolerance to assure consistent production of castings within design specifications and tolerance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist production through the improvement of caster efficiency and scrap reduction.
- Support production with running to process
- Monitor caster operation to assist in scrap reduction by seeking and identifying opportunities for process improvement. (Monitors plant scrap)
- Complete process-related projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Train and assist manufacturing assuring successful launch of new and existing products.
- Completes process review and tooling conditions supporting plant operations.
- Completes Thermal reviews and reports to management team.
- Implement solutions within defined and limited boundaries.
- Assist other Process members with projects.
- Communicate process improvements and project results to members of management.
- Understand cause and effect of defects and their detection
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Primary Competencies:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions
- Ability to write and complete required paperwork.
- Possess basic math skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company
- Possess problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with computerized equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Making sure that work is done correctly, completely, and to the highest standards
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed

Physical Demands:
1. Lifting up to 20 lbs. throughout the shift.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Melt experience is preferred.
- Previous Spectrometer work is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
Work Environment:
This job operates within a casting facility. Ability to work in conditions which may include seasonal hot and humid conditions, dust, noise, and other elements for extended periods of time.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with scheduled hours Monday through Friday. Overtime may occur during the work week or weekends and will be based on production needs.
