Playwright MCP Automation Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Playwright MCP Automation Specialist based in Brazil.

Join a remote technology team as a Playwright MCP Automation Specialist, helping build reliable, scalable automation solutions for modern web applications. In this contract role, you will combine browser automation, end-to-end testing, and software quality engineering to improve application reliability and streamline complex workflows. You will design and implement robust Playwright-based frameworks for UI validation, regression testing, and automated data extraction, including interactions with systems that lack dedicated APIs. The role also offers an opportunity to explore the intersection of test automation and artificial intelligence through MCP integrations and AI-powered agents. Your technical expertise will help reduce manual effort, strengthen testing coverage, and make automated workflows more efficient and dependable.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Playwright-based automation frameworks for browser automation, UI testing, and end-to-end application validation.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts and browser interaction workflows to verify functionality, usability, and application behavior.
  • Execute regression testing and validate web applications to identify defects and maintain consistent software quality.
  • Develop automated data extraction and web scraping workflows for systems that do not expose APIs or provide direct integration capabilities.
  • Explore and implement integrations between Playwright automation, AI-powered agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve automation failures, identifying root causes and improving test reliability.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and efficient software delivery.
  • Use Git and established source-control workflows to manage automation code, collaborate with team members, and maintain code quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for browser automation and web application testing.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end test automation frameworks.
  • Practical knowledge of UI testing, regression testing, application validation, and automated test script development.
  • Experience building browser interaction workflows and automated data extraction or web scraping solutions.
  • Ability to automate interactions with systems and web applications that do not provide APIs.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in one or more languages, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Experience debugging automated tests, diagnosing failures, and improving test stability and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with Git and source-control practices, including collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with AI-powered agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or AI-driven tool orchestration is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Benefits:

  • Remote contract opportunity with location flexibility.
  • Opportunity to work on browser automation, end-to-end testing, and advanced QA engineering challenges.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies, including MCP integrations and AI-powered automation workflows.
  • Opportunity to build scalable automation frameworks and improve testing efficiency across web applications.
  • Salary, healthcare coverage, paid leave, and other benefits are not specified in the provided job description.
