POSITION SUMMARY:

Working as part of a collaborative team, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible for creating a positive environment that will enhance children’s emotional, social, creative, physical and intellectual development. An Early Childhood Educator looks after all aspects of the care and safety of young children in a developmentally appropriate environment and supports families to ensure a positive experience within the YWCA Child Development Centre.


POSITION REPORTING:

Reports to the Manager, Child Development Centre


LOCATION: YWCA Saskatoon operates two Child Development Centres, with this position based at our 140 Wall Street location.


HOURS OF WORK: Full-time (40 hours per week); one (1) year term starting November 1st, 2026.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    With a room partner, supervise all aspects of daily activities for an assigned group of children; Support and work collaboratively with parents; Work collaboratively with professionals, Speech Language Pathologist / Bev. Consultants. Fulfill other responsibilities to contribute to the YWCA team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Valid Saskatchewan ECE Certification;Experience working with children that have special needs is considered an asset;Strong communication and teamwork skills;Current First-Aid and CPR Certificate; Valid Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check.

WAGE:

$16.78 – 18.42/hr (Step 1 – Child Development Centre grid)
